It's especially personal for me after losing my mother, my sister-in-law, and my good friend to breast cancer. My mother passed away from liver cancer 22 years ago. 

My sister-in-law, passed away 10 years ago this month. She was only in her early 30's when she died from Triple Negative breast cancer.

The best person you will ever know -- Kim -- fought bravely, optimistically and graciously through the disease. Blessed to be friends with her for almost 20 years before she passed away in March. She was the heart and soul of our friend group, now we're carrying on her spirit!   

I carry their spirits with me throughout my life!

Kim was a big Patrick Dempsey fan -- of course! But she was also a champion of the Dempsey Center before and after she was diagnosed. After spending years raising money for the Center -- she then benefitted from its services.

The Dempsey Challenge is the annual fundraising event for the Dempsey Center. The non-profit makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.
