Kim was a dear family friend, as evidenced by her presence at a family wedding in 2014. She was always welcome at family gatherings and made each of them memorable. There was always a smile on her face and a pair of sunglasses on her head. In memory of Kim and her brave and unrelenting fight against cancer, I am doing my small part to support an organization that she was committed to and to remember her special place in our hearts.
The Dempsey Challenge is the premiere fundraising event for the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.
