I’m raising funds for Dragonheart Vermont because of my mom—who has faced breast cancer not once, but twice.

Going through it once is overwhelming enough. Watching her have to face it again brought a whole new level of fear, strength, and reality to what cancer really does—not just to one person, but to everyone who loves them.

There were moments of uncertainty, resilience, and just trying to take things one day at a time. And through it all, one thing became clear: support matters more than you realize until you need it.

That’s why I do this event.

Dragonheart Vermont provides that support—community, resources, and connection—for people navigating breast cancer and cancer in our community. It’s the kind of support that helps people feel less alone in something that can feel incredibly isolating.

This is personal for me.
