On August 9th, I will be rowing alongside my fellow UVM Health collegues for the Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival! A little friendly competion, a day of community celebration, and a goal of raising money to help breast cancer survivors and other Vermont cancer organizations.

I'm rowing because as a medical assistant in the breast imaging department I support people on a daily basis through the unknown. That whether they are coming in for an annual screening or biopsy, I am happy they are here and want to make them feel as comfortable as possible.

Most people know someone who has been affected by cancer. I hope that by participating in this community event, I am able to positiviley impact someone in my community affected by this disease.
