My Personal Fundraising Page

I want to express my heartfelt thanks for taking a moment to visit my fundraising page.

I will be walking in honor of Myles Joseph Turcotte, who passed this past February. I had the absolute gift of being his nanny for a year and a half. 

Myles was spirited and knew how to make everyone laugh. His favorite movie was cars and his favorite scene was the pit stop scene in the final race, one he often recreated. His favorite song was Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen (he had taste) and his favorite thing to do was ride his bike. When I met him a little over two years ago I knew we’d be best buds. He had more character than I could possibly describe here.

Myles was born with Scimitar Syndrome, a congenital heart defect that requires surgery to reroute abnormal blood vessels. He then developed Pulmonary Vein Stenosis, a progressive heart condition closing up his pulmonary veins. He passed peacefully 7 months ago at the age of two and a half. Research funding for CHDs lags far behind other childhood diseases.

It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward the next 30 years of hope. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation's crucial mission—advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research that improves survival rates, reduces complications, and helps Heart Warriors celebrate more birthdays than ever before.
