Dear Family and Friends,

This is Hannah Mielke and I am pleased to tell you that The Walkathon is back! This year it is called the Walking Saints and it will take place on Tuesday, October 31. This day is on Halloween and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation Day. We get the chance to dress up in costumes, raise money for our school, and show the love of Christ. How fun?!

The goal of this walkathon is to raise money for the track and field that was put in this past summer. Last year we had a walkathon to help start raising money for the track and field. Our goal last year was $10,000 as a school and we exceeded that by $2,000. The walkathon last year didn’t raise quite enough money to pay off the whole field so we are doing another this year! If you helped contribute last year, I thank you for that.

This year our school has a goal of $11,000.

I am so grateful that this track and field has been redone because during the summer when we would have volleyball workouts we would need to do some conditioning but we couldn’t because the track was falling apart and crumbling. We would have to do our conditioning on the tennis courts. This upcoming summer though we will be able to practice on the track and it will be smooth when we are running.
