VCA Walk for the Animals

For over 33 years, the Walk for the Animals has served as the Humane Society of Broward County's largest annual fundraiser. By donating to the Walk, you are helping thousands of animals that come through their doors each year. Every dollar supports them as they provide veterinary care, food, shelter and much much more to every animal they see.

In addition to helping animals looking for their forever families, your donation will be supporting the many programs and services that the HSBC provides for our community such as

Low Cost Spay and Neuter
Low Cost Vaccine Clinic
Education Programs for children and teens in schools and at the shelter
Animal Assisted Therapy visits in schools, hospitals, senior living centers and libraries
Partnering with The Street Dog Coalition to provide medical and related services for companion pets owned by people experencing homelessness
Monthly Pet Pantry which provides food and toys for pets of unhoused individuals
Assisting other shelters experiencing hardships due to weather events
Assisting shelters in Georgia, Alabama, Puerto Rico, St. Croix and other locations by transporting animals that would be euthanized to our shelter to find their forever families
Providing seminars for Police Officers throughout Broward County to assist them in assessing dog body language and teaching them techniques to de-escalate dangerous situations involving fearful and/or aggressive dogs
Puppy Pre-School and Dog Obedience Classes
Pet Loss and Grieving Support Sessions
Bunny Basics Class
Behavior Helpline
Collaboration with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts
Mutts & Meows for Military

The Humane Society of Broward County is able to provide these services to our community because of donations from generous people like you. The HSBC is a private non-profit and does not receive any funding from tax dollars.
