I'll be paddling for Hospicare this year!

From personal experience, I know how tremendously supportive hospice and bereavement services can be.

I also have the privilege of working as a bereavement counselor at Hospicare. The most rewarding aspects of the work are helping clients process and cope with what may be the most painful experience of their lives, and aiding their rediscovery of purpose and meaning. This is humbling work--I deeply appreciate the trust that clients put in me to be a companion in their grieving process.

I'm so pleased to be able to join the fundraising effort this year. You may know that Hospicare offers thirteen months of individual counseling services for Hospicare families. Did you know that it also provides bereavement support to the community? Additionally, Hospicare is committed to remaining a nonprofit organization despite a broader trend to privatize and profit from hospice services. Only 20% of hospice agencies remain not-for-profit.

I hope you'll join me in supporting such an important organization. Hospicare needs our support to continue providing quality end-of-life care and grief support in our community.
