A new challenge in support of hugely important end-of-life care

Swimming across Cayuga Lake is something I've aspired to do for decades, and now, after training with the YMCA Master Swim program, I'm finally ready to go for it! Open-water swimming is a whole new adventure for me. 

I'm excited about being part of such an important fundraising event in support of end-of-life care. I've heard first-hand what a huge difference the funds raised though this event make in Hospicare being able to provide top-quality care to all patients regardless of insurance coverage or personal resources.

Ever since I was a child, death has had a strong presence in my heart and mind. And in recent years I've lost many members of my extended family. Helping people feel cared for and at peace during the final transition from life is important beyond what I can express in words.
