Danny's Mountaineers Fundraising Page!

Our dad, Danny, was diagnosed with Stage IV lung adenocarcinoma in December of 2024. As an otherwise healthy man, who loved being active, working on projects, landscaping, playing with his 2 golden retrievers, cooking all kinds of cuisine, and cheering on WVU, this came as a huge shock to our family. We are now over a year into this diagnosis, and we are so thankful to be able to say our dad is doing well on a targeted therapy. There is not a day that goes by that we do not think about how the trajectory of all our lives could be vastly different without medical research and science. We are so honored to participate in this event again because we know the true value of Lung Cancer Initiative. The money raised is used to further research and support those directly affected by the myriad of lung cancer disease processes. Last year, our team raise $4128 dollars and we are setting our goal at $4500 this year. Please help us reach our goal by joining our team and donating to "Danny's Mountaineers". If you are local to Charlotte, please join us on May 16th at McAlpine Creek Park to participate in the 5K and a brunch after. You can participate in a time or untimed capacity. Most of our team members walk untimed, but we will cheer you on if you want to run! Furry family members and children welcome. If you are unable to participate in person, a donation to our team would be so appreciated. There is a virtual option, as well. We are forever thankful for medical research and are so fortunate to participate in this event. Let's show Charlotte a true Mountaineer spirit and come together when it matters most!
