Crista has always believed that sometimes the best conversations happen without words. Growing up around the world, she discovered that every culture has its own rhythm—and she loved learning them all! From dancing the Arab dabke in Egypt and Jordan, to enjoying the club dance floors of England, to learning regadda in Morocco's Rif Mountains and trying flamenco in Spain, Crista found that dance is a universal language that brings people together. That same love of connection has shaped her life's work. As a social worker at Mountain View High School, Crista has the privilege of walking alongside students through both challenges and triumphs, encouraging them to discover the difference they can make by serving others. Her passion for service grew during the 14 years she and her late husband, Travis, lived in Morocco, serving with a nonprofit at a physical therapy center for children with disabilities. Their experience taught them the power of community, resilience, and showing up with compassion. Years later, Travis's diagnosis with glioblastoma (GBM) made those lessons deeply personal as they experienced an incredible outpouring of love and support from family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Today, Crista is grateful to share life with her husband, Tim, as together they enjoy the adventure of their beautifully blended family of nine. Crista also proudly serves as the Sparrow Club advisor at MVHS, and is honored to be part of DWTCOS 2026, celebrating community, supporting an incredible cause, and proving that whether through service or dance, we're all better when we move together.

Alex Reininger is a dancer, choreographer, roller skater, figure skating coach, and movement educator based in Bend, Oregon. A Central Oregon native, she is the founder of Mindful Motion, a movement practice dedicated to helping people build confidence, connection, and joy through dance, skating, and mindful movement. With over 15 years of formal dance training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop, Alex teaches weekly beginner line dance lessons at The Coyote and coaches roller skating and figure skating through Bend Park & Recreation District at The Pavilion. She also performs with Grand Ballet Academy, founded Roller Skaters of Central Oregon, and proudly works alongside her family at Leapin’ Lizards Toy Company, a local business that has served the Central Oregon community for decades. After coaching Team Love in Motion in her debut season as a Pro Hip Hop Coach for Dancing with the Central Oregon Stars last year, Alex is honored to return for a second season. Growing up in Central Oregon has given her a deep appreciation for this community, and she is grateful for the opportunity to support Sparrow Clubs by using movement to bring people together in service of local children and families.
