About Me!
Tim Kerr is proof that life can take you on some unexpected adventures. Raised in the Middle East as the son of Christian missionaries, he grew up surrounded by different cultures and even met the woman who would one day become his wife, Crista. Now, years later, they're taking on yet another adventure together—learning hip-hop and performing side by side in this dance competition. After returning to the United States, Tim served in the U.S. Air Force before continuing his career with the Department of Defense. He has always had a heart for helping kids, which led him to adopt two sons from Ukraine. Together, Tim and Crista are blessed with a family of nine—four daughters, three sons, and enough activity to make dance rehearsals seem relaxing. When it comes to dancing, Tim's résumé is... short. Before this competition, his most notable performance was at his wedding, where the reviews were positive but admittedly biased. Despite his limited experience, he’s excited to trade his dress shoes for hip-hop moves in support of an incredible cause. Tim is honored to be part of this fundraiser benefiting kids with disabilities. He hopes his enthusiasm, willingness to laugh at himself, and commitment to the team will be worth at least a few extra points. Thanks for cheering him on—and if you catch him counting the steps under his breath, no you didn't!
About my Hip Hop Coach!
Alex Reininger is a dancer, choreographer, roller skater, figure skating coach, and movement educator based in Bend, Oregon. A Central Oregon native, she is the founder of Mindful Motion, a movement practice dedicated to helping people build confidence, connection, and joy through dance, skating, and mindful movement. With over 15 years of formal dance training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop, Alex teaches weekly beginner line dance lessons at The Coyote and coaches roller skating and figure skating through Bend Park & Recreation District at The Pavilion. She also performs with Grand Ballet Academy, founded Roller Skaters of Central Oregon, and proudly works alongside her family at Leapin’ Lizards Toy Company, a local business that has served the Central Oregon community for decades. After coaching Team Love in Motion in her debut season as a Pro Hip Hop Coach for Dancing with the Central Oregon Stars last year, Alex is honored to return for a second season. Growing up in Central Oregon has given her a deep appreciation for this community, and she is grateful for the opportunity to support Sparrow Clubs by using movement to bring people together in service of local children and families.
