What is Sparrow Clubs?
About Me!
Born in the scorching heat of Bakersfield, California, he staged a daring escape in 2006, heading straight for the rain-soaked sanctuary of Salem, Oregon. He spent four wonderful years there, creating lasting memories and friendships. Then came a casual weekend trip to Sunriver, a seemingly small decision. Fast-forward to today, and he has been happily calling Central Oregon home ever since. Now cruising through his 40s, he is eager to find new ways to challenge himself and embrace growth. When he isn’t setting fresh goals, he can usually be found dominating his own living room dance floor. Hand him a microphone, and the real show begins—his passion for karaoke is legendary, mostly because his boundless enthusiasm always surpasses his pitch accuracy. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, whether hiking along scenic trails, relaxing by a lake, or camping under the stars. These moments surrounded by nature recharge his spirit and remind him why he loves Central Oregon so much. Beyond his personal adventures, he is excited to get involved with Sparrow Clubs and support the incredible work they do. He deeply believes in their mission to empower youth to help children with medical needs, and he feels fortunate to contribute to such a meaningful cause. Whether singing, exploring, or lending a helping hand, he strives to live fully and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
About my Hip Hop Coach!
Alex Reininger is a dancer, choreographer, roller skater, figure skating coach, and movement educator based in Bend, Oregon. A Central Oregon native, she is the founder of Mindful Motion, a movement practice dedicated to helping people build confidence, connection, and joy through dance, skating, and mindful movement. With over 15 years of formal dance training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop, Alex teaches weekly beginner line dance lessons at The Coyote and coaches roller skating and figure skating through Bend Park & Recreation District at The Pavilion. She also performs with Grand Ballet Academy, founded Roller Skaters of Central Oregon, and proudly works alongside her family at Leapin’ Lizards Toy Company, a local business that has served the Central Oregon community for decades. After coaching Team Love in Motion in her debut season as a Pro Hip Hop Coach for Dancing with the Central Oregon Stars last year, Alex is honored to return for a second season. Growing up in Central Oregon has given her a deep appreciation for this community, and she is grateful for the opportunity to support Sparrow Clubs by using movement to bring people together in service of local children and families.
