Michael is back on the dance floor for his second round of Dancing with the Central Oregon Stars—and this time, he is bringing the beat, the laughs, and maybe even a little pop-and-lock magic as part of the Hayden Homies Hip Hop Team. While his dance credentials may still be under official review, his heart for the cause is undeniable. Sparrow Clubs is deeply personal to Michael. At just six months old, he was diagnosed with leukemia and became known as the “first Sparrow.” What began with Dameon generously offering $60 to help sparked a wildfire of compassion that grew into more than $260,000, helping make Michael’s bone marrow transplant possible. That life-changing generosity is why this event is so much more than a performance—it is a full-circle celebration of hope, community, and the powerful ripple effect of people choosing to show up for one another. Today, Michael serves as the Training and Development Manager at Hayden Homes, where he helps equip team members with the tools, training, and resources they need to do their best work and head home feeling fulfilled. Outside of work, Michael is usually on the move—running, golfing, exploring the Pacific Northwest, or trying to keep up with his toddler, Rogyn, alongside his wife, Taylor. Whether he is facilitating a training, chasing a finish line, chasing a golf ball, or chasing a toddler, Michael brings energy, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart to everything he does.

Shannon Abero Guerrero grew up in Northern CA and has been dancing for over 30 years She was inspired by music videos on MTV in the 80’s and loved emulating moves from Janet Jackson to Paula Abdul and more! Shannon didn’t receive formal training until Highschool, where she was on the Cheer, Drill and the Dance Teams. Her older brother, Brian, soon discovered Hip-hop and introduced her younger sister to a class - - the rest is History. After receiving her BA in Psychology at Cal State University of Long Beach, Shannon worked for an AIDS intervention organization for a year, while still dancing on the side. Her love and passion for dance soon became her livelihood after booking a dance agent in Los Angeles. Some of her credentials include: House of Blues, Nike, Memoirs of a Geisha, and The Ellen Show. She has toured with Asian singers and has taught internationally as well. After dancing professionally for a few years in Southern California, Shannon became a dance instructor in Santa Barbara California and currently teaches all across Central Oregon (at The Dance Connection, Sisters Dance Academy & Bend Parks & Rec) sharing her love of dance with all her students! This is her fifth year participating in a Sparrow Clubs fundraiser and she is beyond excited to once again be one of the Pro Hip-hop team coaches! She hopes to raise awareness of the amazing work that Sparrow Clubs of Central Oregon does for our youth!
