About Me!
Rebecca Maloney is an accomplished leader and outdoor enthusiast who brings passion, energy, and heart to everything she does. Originally from Vail, Colorado, Rebecca made the move to Bend, Oregon, 3½ years ago to embrace a new chapter filled with adventure, community, and personal growth. With a strong background in technology and leadership, she has built a career around driving innovation while always staying grounded in her core values of connection and compassion. Outside of her professional accomplishments, Rebecca is an avid ultra runner, constantly pushing herself through endurance challenges that fuel both her mind and spirit. She also loves spending time outdoors skiing, golfing, and paddleboarding, making the most of Central Oregon’s natural beauty. Her greatest joys come from the time she spends with her partner Kurtis and their two beloved dogs, Mazy and Hunter and her foster horses Devon and Mocha, who are truly like her children. Rebecca has a deep passion for children’s programs and giving back to her community. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors and acts as Volunteer Coordinator for Equine Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating horses in need. Through this work, she combines her love for animals with her desire to make a meaningful difference. Rebecca’s journey, from the mountains of Vail to the vibrant community of Bend, is a reflection of her belief in growth, resilience, and living life to the fullest. Whether on the trail, at the lake, or volunteering, she is always moving forward with purpose and heart.
About my Hip Hop Coach!
Shannon Abero Guerrero grew up in Northern CA and has been dancing for over 30 years She was inspired by music videos on MTV in the 80’s and loved emulating moves from Janet Jackson to Paula Abdul and more! Shannon didn’t receive formal training until Highschool, where she was on the Cheer, Drill and the Dance Teams. Her older brother, Brian, soon discovered Hip-hop and introduced her younger sister to a class - - the rest is History. After receiving her BA in Psychology at Cal State University of Long Beach, Shannon worked for an AIDS intervention organization for a year, while still dancing on the side. Her love and passion for dance soon became her livelihood after booking a dance agent in Los Angeles. Some of her credentials include: House of Blues, Nike, Memoirs of a Geisha, and The Ellen Show. She has toured with Asian singers and has taught internationally as well. After dancing professionally for a few years in Southern California, Shannon became a dance instructor in Santa Barbara California and currently teaches all across Central Oregon (at The Dance Connection, Sisters Dance Academy & Bend Parks & Rec) sharing her love of dance with all her students! This is her fifth year participating in a Sparrow Clubs fundraiser and she is beyond excited to once again be one of the Pro Hip-hop team coaches! She hopes to raise awareness of the amazing work that Sparrow Clubs of Central Oregon does for our youth!
