As many of you know I have been on the Horizons at SCH board for a number of years and I am passionate about the beneficial impact that this program has on its students. Horizons at SCH continues to grow every summer and a new class of Kindergarten students will be added to the summer 2026 cohort bringing the total number of classes up to 6. 

One of the most important things in an academic based summer program is teachers. With the addition of a new class comes the addition of two more teachers. For Horizons Giving Day 2026 I am challenging all of you to team up with me to fund a new Assistant Teacher. Any amount you are able to contribute to helping to fund this critical position is greatly appreciated!

Horizons at SCH (established in 2021) is a transformational, tuition-free, long-term academic and enrichment program serving local students who attend Philadelphia public schools and face barriers to opportunity. Hosted on the campus of SCH, but paid for independently through grants and fundraising, Horizons at SCH provides a six-week, full-day summer experience for Kindergarten through 8th graders. Horizons at SCH is still a growing program with growing financial needs. Please help us meet these needs by donating today!
