Horizons at MSD is a free, six-week summer enrichment program for three, four and five-year-old children who will be eligible for free or reduced-price lunch in their local public schools.
Our mission is to advance educational equity by building long-term partnerships with under-resourced Colorado students, their families and communities. We provide academic enrichment, swimming lessons, and a supportive long-term community. Grounded in Montessori principles, our program provides daily breakfast, lunch and snack, bilingual instruction, small student groupings for social-emotional learning, and a carefully prepared learning environment designed specifically to capitalize on the student’s natural curiosity and love of learning.
Horizons at MSD is an affiliate of Horizons Colorado. We proudly serve the youngest Horizon students in the nation and are the only Horizons Early Childhood Education (ECE) school in Colorado and just the second Montessori Horizons program in the nation. MSD launched our first program, starting with just three-year-old students our first summer in June 2024. Every summer, we add more, new three-year-olds to our returning student population, creating a multi-year, authentic Montessori classroom.
