10th Annual Climbing for ROMP
Since 2015, Climbing for ROMP has honored the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by advocating for access to prosthetic care and disability rights worldwide. This year, to mark the 10th annual, we aim to summit Ecuador’s three highest peaks: Chimborazo (20,549 ft), Cotopaxi (19,347 ft), and Cayambe (18,996 ft), and unite thousands globally in solidarity.
Our Mission: Create the most inclusive mobility campaign ever, funding 250 prostheses in 2024 and paving the way for ROMP’s expansion to a new country by 2026. Help us raise $500,000 for ROMP by climbing our mountains!

FAQs
What if there are no hills or mountains near me to climb?
We use "climb" as a metaphor for the challenges we are all facing. Your "mountain/climb" can be anything meaningful to you. You can run, walk, roll, skip, paddle, hike, climb - JUST MOVE!
Can I create a team? Or do I sign up individually?
Whichever works best for you! You can sign up as an individual, join a team, or start a team.
Is this a virtual or in-person event?
Both! The virtual model just means that your team can be global! You can also organize something in-person. It's up to you. Reach out to all of your friends and family, get them signed up on your team and get outside together - either virtually, in-person, or both!
What does it cost?
Climbing for ROMP is FREE. No cost is associated. Everyone who registers will have their own personal fundraising page! Please consider donating or fundraising to change a life!
Why do we climb?
We believe that all human beings are made to be mobile, regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status, and that physical mobility is a critical component of social mobility and the pursuit of life's many aspirations. During this campaign, we also take time to commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990.
What is the ADA?
The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. The ADA gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided to individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion. It guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities.
How does Climbing for ROMP change lives?
Over the last 9 years, Climbing for ROMP has changed the lives of hundreds of amputees through our fundraising efforts. By donating to or fundraising on your team page, you are directly funding ROMP's mission of providing high-quality prosthetic care to people in need. Since 2005, ROMP has delivered more than 4,700 prosthetic devices and had more than 13,000 patient visits!
