Like so many of us, I have a cancer story. My father passed away just two weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 50. His cancer was so advanced that there were no options available. I often think about how different that story could have been if only we had an effective treatment and that is what drives my commitment to helping ensure that others, in the future, have more time, more choices, and more hope.

This year, I’ve taken on the challenge of participating in the Timmerman Traverse in support of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. This incredible organization funds bold, early-career scientists with innovative ideas. In these years where funding has been cut across programs these scientists bring exactly the kind of thinking that leads to breakthroughs. I would love to count you in as a supporter of these scientists!

As part of this effort, I’m aiming to raise at least $35,000 to help fund grants for these rising researchers. I would be truly grateful if you would consider supporting me with a contribution toward this goal. Every dollar goes directly toward advancing lifesaving cancer research. I am asking you for a donation of $1,000. As an added incentive, I commit to completing 50 pushups for a donation of $500 and 2 x 50 for 100 pushups for a single donation of $1,000.
