I recently committed to the Timmerman Traverse, supporting the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.

I’ve chosen to spend my career in the biotech ecosystem as a founder, investor, and strategic advisor because I believe scientific progress meaningfully changes lives. At DeciBio Consulting, our ethos has always been to be participants in the industries we advise to help companies shaping the future of medicine. Supporting bold, early-stage cancer research through Damon Runyon is a natural extension of that commitment.

Like most families, ours has been touched by cancer. I won’t belabor that point, but it reinforces for me that backing courageous researchers matters.

There’s also a personal dimension to this challenge. Growing up, our family vacations were in the Sierras. I’ve hiked this range for most of my life. The Evolution Range is in "my backyard". Getting the chance to cross it in the context of the Traverse and for a meaningful cause, is a real privilege.

Even more special, I’ve had the joy of introducing my own children to the Sierras. Watching them experience the same granite peaks, alpine lakes, and thin mountain air that shaped my childhood has been magical. Multiple generations of my family now share a connection to this landscape.

This effort is about honoring that connection, pushing myself physically, and directing that effort toward something that matters.
