Zeddy and I are racing 10 kilometers in support of girls' education. Any money we raise goes directly to Daraja Academy in Kenya and Zeddy's education. Thank you for your help! Or, as they say in Kenya, ASANTE SANA!
Zeddy is a 16-year-old Kalejin girl from Daiga, Laikipia, and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2028! Her family consists of her two parents and eight siblings. Together, they live in Seiyo Village in a two-room mud house. Both of her parents attended primary school, but neither went on to high school. Zeddy often attended school only two days a week so that she could work to help cover school fees and basic necessities.
She describes Daraja as a bridge to the other side, a place where she can achieve her dream of becoming a journalist and travel the world. She loves playing football and throwing the javelin, and she also emphasises the way reading and her dream to explore the world brings her happiness.
