Race 4 Daraja 2026

Yvonne is a 16-year-old Kamba girl from Kiko Village in Kilungu Sub-County, Makueni County, and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2028. She lives with her parents and four siblings in a two-room house with a rusted iron-sheet roof that sometimes leaks when it rains.

Yvonne was the head girl at her former school and also led cleanliness and education efforts. Her responsibilities included overseeing duties, ensuring the school remained clean, and helping maintain strong academic performance.

In her free time, she enjoys playing handball, running, and helping others. Yvonne dreams of becoming a nurse so she can support her asthmatic mother and help her live a longer, healthier life. She shares that Daraja is not only a bridge for her, but also a home where she has found a loving and supportive community.


