Nasra and I are racing 10 kilometers in support of girls' education. Any money we raise goes directly to Daraja Academy in Kenya and Nasra's education. Thank you for your help! Or, as they say in Kenya, ASANTE SANA!
Quote: “When it comes to fighting, women are always there to shape the world to a better one.” -Nasra
Nasra is a 15-year-old Pokomo girl from Garissa County and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2028. At home, she lives in a single-roomed mud house with her mother and five siblings. Her father is polyamorous and is only present with her family once or twice a week, which limits the financial support they receive and makes it difficult to meet basic needs. Neither of Nasra’s parents completed primary school, so her opportunity to attend high school is a dream come true, she shares.
Daraja has been a stepping stone toward her goal of becoming a doctor. She is eager to learn about the human body and how it functions. In her free time, Nasra enjoys reading and drawing.
