Sandra is a 17-year-old Luo girl from Nairobi and will graduate from Daraja with the Class of 2028. She grew up in Kibera and, when at home, lives with a guardian and two other children. They stay in a mud house with carpets covering the floor. Sandra’s mother has passed away, and she has faced challenges finding a stable home and consistent support, which has led to struggles with food and rent.
These experiences have inspired Sandra to work toward supporting her siblings in the future. She aspires to become a lawyer so she can stand up for the truth and advocate for justice. She values honesty and fairness.
Sandra loves singing, dancing, and playing basketball. She explains that Daraja has given her the space to embrace others and express love.
