My Story

In 2018 my friends and family noticed that my gait was different and the way I held my left side was awkward. I brought this up to my Primary Care Physician and he sent me to see a Neurologist in 2019 where I was officially diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in January of 2019.

I’m the type of person that is relentless about finding causation and eventually I suspected that my exposure to neurotoxins released from burn pits in Al Taqquadum and Al Asad air bases in Iraq in 2009 and my exposure to neurotoxins from the burning oil wells in the Burgan Oil Fields during the Gulf War in 1991 caused, aggravated and/or triggered an early onset of Parkinson’s disease. In 2024 the VA agreed that my Parkinson's Disease was service connected.

Revenues from fundraising events like this are essential to help ensure that no person with Parkinson’s in Michigan and their families are without quality care and support. I know I am fortunate to have the support of my friends and family but not all parkinson's patients have that.

By supporting this fundraiser you are helping those patients get it.
